19th Century French Louis XV Oval Nightstand is a gracefully executed transitional piece, combining a neoclassical essence with the elegance of four subtly scrolled cabriole legs and an oval casework to create a wonderfully versatile companion for the bedroom or any seating group. Hand-crafted and carved from sumptous French walnut, each leg is tied to the casework with carved foliate flourishes transitioning to spiral ribbon corners leading up to boldly carved rosettes. The rich grain of the highly desirable walnut is expertly presented, including the oval top itself. The front consists of two drawers curved to follow the oval contour and carved with ribbon trim.
