This heavy Brass Traveling Scribe Inkwell and Quill Holder is called a Qalamdam or Divit and dates from c. 1850s.

DETAILS-It is Ottoman in origin with a seashell lid for the inkwell and foliate details on the quill holder ends.
Slight dents on the bottom from use as well as several scratches.
