19th Century French Louis XVI Neoclassical Walnut Bookcase is a masterpiece of French cabinetry and wood sculpting, rendered entirely from sumptuous French walnut and doors featuring grillage. Starting with the sculpted ribbon trim shield & foliate sprays adorning the arched crown, the eye is lead to the relief carvings of ribbon and floral garlands to the fluted bonnet just below. The doors are fitted with grillage to allow ample visual display of your prized heirlooms, collection or memorabilia housed inside. Adjustable shelves make displaying very versatile. The hand carved drawer with the carved panels at the bottom of each door are the most remarkable. Measures: 97 in tall x 51.5 x 24. Circa 1890s
