French Louis XV style gilt bronze sconces, pair. Delightful pair of 3-branch Louis XV style gilt bronze wall sconces. Each candle arm features candle holders (bobèches) in the form of a blooming flower. Electrified, but may need to be wired for American current. Beautiful design and craftsmanship. Typical of the Rocaille style, also known as Baroque or Rococo style which reached its popularity in the 18th century, during the reign of Louis XV, and particularly favored by the King's celebrated mistress, la Marquise de Pompadour. Sconces measure 18" high x 11" wide x 5" deep.
