A 19th century French Louis XV style bonnetière, or display cabinet, from Normandy made of solid oak. Beautiful hand-carved decoration with a shell and flowers beneath the crown, and a shell on the apron. The vitrine has the original glass pane and opens to a wooden interior with three shelves. The cabinet has a dovetailed drawer with book matched wooden details. Decorative hand carved flourishes adorn each foot. Large chapeau de gendarme crown. Fine craftsmanship using pegged construction. Circa 1880-1900. Measures: 71 x 35 x 16.
