Featured in the book Victorian Staffordshire Dogs by A & N Harding, these pair of Staffordshire figures of a girl and boy seated on barrels are exquisite and quite rare.  The boy, with both arms around the spaniel, wears a plumed hat, neckerchief jacket, kilt, and sash around his waist.  The blue-eyed girl, with her right arm around the spaniel and her left resting in her lap, wears a plumed hate, bouse, and an aproned skirt with her sash around her waist.  This superb Staffordshire pair are from the 1860's.  Both are subject to firing cracks underneath the bases from time of manufacture.  The male figure has a continuation of the firing crack on the back, has been sealed to prevent further spread.  Any other nicks or blemishes are normal due to age.

Measures 8" tall x 5" wide x 2" deep.
